Medela Nipple Shields can be an effective tool for managing infants with latch-on problems and for temporary use when breastfeeding with sore, cracked or flat nipples. They are worn over the nipple and areola, and permit the flow of breastmilk while providing a larger surface for baby to latch on to. Made of thin, soft silicone they are neutral in taste and available in three sizes.
